Etsy pre-publish checklist

Etsy 发布前检查清单

  1. Master photos: short side ≥2000px; first photo meets ~635px with a readable square crop.
  2. Title puts the important words in the first ~40 characters; description leads with facts; fill 13 distinct tags ≤20 chars.
  3. Attributes done; personalization truthful; shipping matches capacity; desktop pass: zoom on, tags complete.
  4. Fee check if margins are thin; policies accurate; then run a full TagPeek pass.

I publish more carefully than I used to. URL structure and photo dimensions are painful to unwind after the listing is live. Use this twelve-item checklist as a gate — copy it into your shop notes if that helps.

Run mechanical checks in the browser before you rely on memory. Paste the listing URL, upload the hero, or paste title and tags into TagPeek’s full check — same rule engine as the extension. When you upload for a check, photos stay on your machine.

Holiday weeks multiply mix-ups between similar listing files. I name export files with the product name and pixel size. When zoom fails after a bulk upload, the filename is faster than opening twenty JPEGs.

This checklist does not forecast sales. It only asks whether published requirements and common failure modes are clear before buyers see the page. When an item fails, I fix in severity order: photos that kill zoom, then title getting cut short, then tags and attributes.
